I must start by quickly expressing my love for French’s Fried Onions..and the Cheddar flavored variety..WOW!! 
I’m not sure if there’s anything else quite as yummy, that comes straight out of the can?!
And to top it off, the recipe possibilities with them are literally endless!
But I kept it simple this time, and focused my attention solely on the potato!  As simple as this recipe is, it turned out to be an incredible combination!.
They’re so crispy, tender..and flavorful, the perfect football snack or a great way to jazz up Hamburger night!

What you will need:

1 can of French’s Fried Onions-Cheddar Flavored (slightly crushed)
3 medium potatoes
2 cups of prepared pancake/waffle batter
2 cups of all-purpose flour
1 tsp. Cajun seasoning
1tsp. onion powder
1tsp. garlic salt


?Simply peel and cut the potatoes into “fries”.

Taking a dip! 🙂
Add the flour to a bowl..set aside.
Add the crushed onions to a bowl..set aside.
In another bowl, mix up 2 cups of batter (according to your box instructions, but slightly thin it out a little bit more with some extra water..we don’t want pancake coated fries..lol) This way it binds the onions to the potatoes, and it won’t have a pancake flavor at all!

Add all the spices to the batter and mix well.??

Dip the fries into the flour and then into the batter.
Coat them in the crushed fried onions!
Bake on a baking sheet at 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes, or until they are golden and the potatoes are tender! 

Salt them while they’re warm!

While they’re baking, prepare a dip of some sort…I made some Sour Cream-Dill Dip (1/2 cup sour cream & 1 tbsp. dill)

Just out of the oven..Mmm!


*HINT*  Queso with bacon would be a great dip as well!  ~Enjoy!
