Do you ever get a certain food craving stuck in your head, for whatever reason?!  It’s never quite a broccoli craving is it? ..haha!  And sadly, the only thing that will make it go away is its calorie filled consumption?!  Well, if not, you’re very lucky!  Lately I’ve been haunted by hot & sticky thoughts of melty caramel, oozing out of a crispy, flaky doughnut-ish cake, is that wrong of me?  Well..if it’s wrong, I don’t wanna be right..lol!

Just to kick it up even more, they’re nestled gently in a warm puddle of Apple Pie Filling..why not?!  😉

I really had no choice, but to get busy in the kitchen and find a quick and simple way to get these voices out of my head!

..SUCCESS! 🙂

The Apple Pie Filling kind of makes them like a mini deconstructed Apple Pie, and gives them the coziest little bed to rest their doughy, crispy, caramelly goodness on!  That way you get the perfect bite ratio of caramel dumpling & apple pie filling!  They compliment each other perfectly! Ahh..now we’re talking!  🙂

What you’ll need:

1 Roll of Pillsbury Grands Flaky Biscuits

Kraft individually wrapped caramels..(3 per each dumpling)

Canola oil for frying

Apple pie Filling..(from the can or home made is fine)

Powdered Sugar for dusting

Directions:

Roll out a biscuit, just until it’s slightly flattened, and place 3 caramels inside.

Roll up the caramels inside the biscuit, making a ball!  Seal it very tight!

Heat up the oil and fry each dumpling one at a time..they puff way up!  🙂

Warm up the Apple Pie Filling and scoop some onto a serving plate.  Lovingly place a hot dumpling onto its Apple Pie bed…

Serve these warm and take a big ooey gooey bite!  ~Enjoy!  🙂
