Just what we need, another use for the poor Peep!  This time we get to melt them into a beautifully colored, sticky marshmallow mess!  YUM!  Does anyone actually eat a Peep all by itself?  For some reason I just can’t imagine eating just an ordinary, un-abused Peep..lol!  BUT, melt them, torch them, smush them beyond recognition, and I’m all over it! 🙂

So if you have some extra Peeps turning into rocks, use them up in some colorful Rice Krispie treats..they’re sure to be a PEEPle pleaser!  These actually have a subtle fruity flavor, I think from the Peep’s sugar coating, but it adds an interesting twist to the regular version..give them a try when you have a herd of lonely Peeps petrifying in your kitchen!  😉

What you’ll need:

a 9x13x2 pan

40 Peeps..assorted colors

6 Cups of Rice Krispies

3 tbsp. butter

Some colorful sprinkles just to top with more color

Directions:

In a large pot over medium heat, melt the butter and stir in all the Peeps until they’re fully melted.

Fold in the Rice Krispies, and evenly coat them with the melted Peeps!

Transfer them to a buttered pan and press them evenly into all the corners

While they’re still warm, set one Peep onto each square and let them melt slightly into the treats.

If you’re felling extra silly, cut them in half and share with someone..LOL!  ~Enjoy!  🙂
