I just made these and they were OK, but didn’t look quite right. I think I didn’t use enough water in the middle layer. Help! Please specify how much water to add. I think more than I used would really help keep them moister and not so cakey and dry, but I was afraid too much would leave them a soupy mess.

I’ve loved Musselman’s apple butter for many years, all my life really. I love this page, the recipes all look so easy & yummy. Can’t wait to try them all! Don’t have any apple butter on hand right now & the store is 30 miles away, so can’t try these sweet treats right now, but I do have some molasses, & will try your Ooey Gooey Molasses Buns recipe out tomorrow. Thanks!
