"Take Cover" was quite appropriate. I made a small test batch of these last night, and we devoured them in an instant. I took them to dinner tonight and they were the first and only dish to be to be wiped clean. It can be time consuming, with all the small batches in the oil, but worth the time.

The only changes I made, were to add onion powder to the batter, since our family loves onions. For the dip I did use more of the soup (used the beefy, well worth it) and a bit of garlic powder.

My girlfriend has been telling me about a neighbor that used to make fried green beans. I've heard this story for 15 years. When I cooked these last night, she lit up. When her sister took a bit of one at dinner tonight, her instant reaction was to also light up and start talking about the neighbor. They all agreed that using the french fried onions instead of panko or a bread crumb added so much more flavor, and was that much more enjoyable.
