It was a cool, calm morning and all was quiet when BOOM~ a little voice came through the room in the sweetest little voice, it said “Mom..I want breakfast”. Ugh~ there goes the calm and quiet part..lol! What was I to do?

Don’t answer that…I had to think of something and fast, before the rest of the world wakes up and the dogs start barking, the lawn mowers start mowing, and my quiet time becomes a distant memory! I grabbed a pan and pretty much ransacked my pantry and fridge…and here we are~ LOL!

Here lies proof, that in literally a matter of minutes, you can have a warm, buttery and flaky sausage filled, gravy soaked pan of Crescents that will be gone long before your happy place disappears.

~Make a quick batch of these the next time you want to switch up that morning meal or have a unique and tasty brunch to impress!

1 container of Pillsbury Crescent Rolls (8 count)

Bake it at 350 degrees for approx. 30-40 minutes, or until the sausage is fully cooked and the crescents are golden~ if your sausage is pre-cooked the time may be a title less, just keep an eye on it!

So, I suddenly found myself needing a quick little snack for drop-in company. You know, when that dreaded tune of an unexpected doorbell plays like a soundtrack to your nightmares, while sudden panic washes over you as you’re scrambling to clean AND menu plan all at the same time?!…lol!

Anyway…I wanted something that was a little more appetizing than the can of pork and beans I’ve had in my pantry since early 1999..so I got creative. I gathered up the Bacon and the Brie that I luckily had in the fridge and got busy! I wasn’t sure what these bites would turn out like, but I knew I couldn’t go wrong!

And they were as far from wrong as you can get! OMG ~this little creation made me appreciate unexpected company more than I ever thought I could! Each buttery crescent is filled with creamy, gooey Brie, and studded with bites of sweet, crunchy candied bacon to balance it all out! The combination is to die for, and I plan on making these even for company that <del>I actually invite</del> I’m prepared for! 🙂

~Do this as soon as you can…trust me!

What you’ll need:

1 roll of Pillsbury Crescents (8 count)

2 cups of Crumbled Candied Bacon..super simple recipe below>>

CANDIED BACON:

Brie…approx. 1-1″ cube per crescent

Brown Sugar ..just enough for a dusting

1 egg mixed with a splash of water for egg wash

Directions:

Lay out a crescent roll, and gently even out the dough. Place a scoop of crumbled candied bacon and one cube of the brie on the wide end of the crescent. Brush the edges with some egg wash, fold in the sides and roll it up~

Brush the tops with some more egg wash…

Now give them a sprinkling of brown sugar…

Bake them on a parchment lined sheet pan at 350 degrees for approx. 12-15 minutes, or until they’re slightly golden and puffy!

Pop one in your mouth before anyone knows they’re done…

Now you can let everyone know!

Well, I never thought an OREO could be improved, and I won’t say that these are actually BETTER than a basic, out-of-the-bag Oreo, but they’re pretty darn close! Until you’ve tried a warm, straight out of the oven Oreo, you haven’t fully experienced true Oreo glory..lol!

Combine a warm, soft, gooey Oreo with the buttery blanket of a Crescent Roll and now your Oreo is on a whole other level of flavor euphoria! Each perfect puff is stuffed with all the Chocolatey, creamy goodness that only an Oreo can provide! Make a batch and take that little old sandwich cookie from blah to ahh!

What you’ll need:

1 container of Pillsbury Crescents

OREOS..one per Puff (I used original double stuff and Golden)

Mini Chocolate Chips for garnish..optional

Directions:

Place an OREO onto the wide ond of each Crescent and roll it up tight. Top them with a sprinkling of Mini Chocolate Chips…

See, I DO know how to come up with healthy treats! These buttery, doughy Crescents are filled with plump, nutritious Raspberries.

~Oh, and errr, sugar & gooey Lemony Glaze, but let’s focus on the healthy Raspberries, so we can have 2 servings! 😉

And since I subscribe to the belief that if there’s fruit in, on, near, or around a high calorie treat, that treat then becomes a low-cal healthy option by association. SOoo these are health-food!

…just go with it! 🙂

Each flaky Crescent is literally bursting with gorgeous ruby red Raspberries. They’re taken to another flavor level by way of a thick Lemon Glaze that totally balances out the sweet Berries perfectly!

Super delicious, quick, easy..and so impressive!

What you’ll need:

1 container of Pillsbury Crescent Rolls

1-1/2 cups of frozen Raspberries..semi-thawed (I used unsweetened)!

1 cup Sugar

The Lemon Glaze:

1 cup of Powdered Sugar

2 tbsp. Lemon Juice and/or Zest…liquid will vary a bit, just make sure you get a nice thick consistency!

Directions:

Sprinkle the Crescents with the Sugar….

Add about 2 tbsp. of Berries (don’t over fill them, use your best judgement) to the wide end of the Crescent. Make sure to leave about a 1/8″ border, or so..and roll it up. ~Seal them well with a gentle pinch!

Bake them at 350 for about 12 minutes or until they are firm and golden. If they leak a little it’s no biggie, use more Glaze and cover it up..lol!

Prepare the Lemony Glaze by combining the Powdered Sugar with the Lemon Juice until it’s a thickness you like.

Drizzle them with the glaze and serve those beauties up…

Prepare for the tastiest bite ever! ~Enjoy! 🙂

Whoa..if you love Mexican Food, if you love easy recipes with an enormous flavor pay-off, sit down for this one! This super simple Enchilada switch-up will rock your world like never before! I know that my world will never be the same since I ditched the good old dry Tortilla for a buttery, soft and fluffy Crescent!

Where do I even begin? Honestly this recipe was born, once again, out of laziness! It was Enchilada night and I found myself with NO Tortillas in the house. Going to the store was out of the question since that would require me to actually take my slippers off and put shoes on, yeah..that wasn’t gonna happen! Good thing I had Crescents hanging around..yep, my laziness wins again!

Enchiladas, as you’ve always known them, will forever be changed once your fork sinks down into that cheesy, chicken filled, perfectly puffed Crescent, dripping in the best Green Chile Sauce ever, all covered in ooey-gooey Fiesta Blend Cheese!

What you’ll need for 4 servings (2 Enchiladas per person) double recipe accordingly for more:

1 Container (8ct.) Pillsbury Crescent Rolls

3/4 Cup Milk

2 Cups Shredded Cheddar Cheese..I used Fiesta Blend

1 Can of Chicken Breast

1 Can of Cream Of Chicken Soup

1Can of Chopped and drained Hatch Green Chiles..optional

S&P to taste

A baking/casserole dish

Directions:

In a medium bowl combine the Chicken and 1 cup of the Cheese, breaking up the chicken and incorporating the cheese with a fork…set aside.

In another medium bowl mix together the Soup, Milk, Green Chile and S&P…set aside.

Lay out the Crescents and add about a tbsp. of the Chicken mixture to the wide end and roll it up…

Spread a small scoop of the Gravy mixture into the bottom of the casserole dish and place the filled and rolled Crescents in.

Pour the remaining gravy over the top of the Crescents, making sure to cover them completely…

Sprinkle the top with the remaining Cheese…

Bake it uncovered at 350 for approx. 25 minutes…

Orrr, until the top is golden and the Crescents are fully cooked through…

Serve it up nice and hot, a Margarita wouldn’t hurt either! ~Enjoy! 🙂

Well, luckily for my waistline It took me this long to figure out that I’m capable of creating a “cheesecake” type treat! I’ve always been intimidated by Cheesecake goodies because something about the cheese and umm..the cake, seemed like something I’d SO totally mess up..lol!

Well, I didn’t mess it up this time! In fact I don’t think it’s even possible to mess these delicious, Churro inspired Cheesecake Bars up. They’re such a fun way to bring a State Fair feel to your wintery holiday table! And besides, who doesn’t love a cinnamony, cheesecakey treat, hmmm..who?! 🙂

2 cans (8 oz. each) Pillsbury Crescent Dinner Rolls

2 pkg. (8 oz. each) Philadelphia Cream Cheese..softened

1 tsp. Vanilla

1 egg, slightly beaten

1 cup Sugar..divided

2 Tbsp. ground cinnamon

13×9″ baking pan

Directions:

Unroll one of the cans of the Crescent dough and press it onto the bottom of a greased 13×9″ baking pan, to form a bottom crust. Firmly press the seams together to seal.

With a hand mixer, beat the Cream Cheese, Vanilla, Egg and 1/2 cup of the Sugar on medium speed until well blended…

Spread it evenly onto the crust.

Unroll the remaining can of Crescent dough onto a large sheet of wax paper. Pat out the dough to form a 13×9″ rectangle, pressing the seams together to seal.

Invert over the Cream Cheese mixture to form a top crust.

Bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown.

Combine the remaining 1/2 cup Sugar and Cinnamon in a bowl and sprinkle it all over the top…

Isn’t Fall the BEST time of the year??? C’mon..even if you love Summer, blistering heat and errr..sweat, you must admit there’s something so comforting about Autumn and all of the delicious, cozy and chilly things that go along with it!

Such as…cool breezes, cute boots, and sticky Caramel & Apples!

How lucky are we that the best time of the year for food happens to be the best time of the year for Holiday entertaining?! And with all that entertaining it’s nice to have some super simple, yet super impressive desserts that we can whip up, while we’re busy making the house look like no one lives in it..lol!

You will have everyone in dessert heaven when you bring these five star Popovers to the table! The fluffy and tender Crescents hug all of the caramelly, warm & sticky Apples, totally snuggling them with deliciousness!

Ohhh yeahh! 🙂

WARNING: You may have a temporary moment of guilt because these are SOO easy to whip up, but don’t worry..no one ever has to know that you didn’t work all day in the kitchen!

Shhh..it’ll be our little secret! 🙂

If necessary, you could always do the old “flour on the face” trick..lol! 😉

However, if your guilt should happen to last more than 3 minutes, find a quiet corner and take a big, sweet bite of one of these Popovers…

..instant happiness!!

What you’ll need for 4 ooey-gooey Popovers (feel free to double accordingly for more of them):

1 container of Pillsbury Crescent Rolls

Approx. 1 Cup of Apple pie Filling

Approx. 1 Cup of Caramel Sauce

Powdered Sugar for dusting

A Popover Pan *A Cupcake Pan will work as well, however they might not get quite as tall..still yummy though! 🙂

Directions:

Open up the Crescents, and separate them into 4 pieces. That means keeping two Crescents together by pinching the seams closed. This will make 4 individual Crescents..kind of square shaped!

Smear the dough with a layer of the Caramel Sauce, and a nice scoop of the Apple Pie Filling (a couple of tablespoons).

I started by using one Crescent, but quickly sealed them back together! It takes two Crescents sealed together, to get that nice, tall Popover experience…

Roll each Popover up, kind of sealing the bottom and placing them open side up, down inside of the Popover Pan. Just plop them in there..as they bake they all take on their own pretty shapes.

Bake them at 350 for about 12-15 minutes, until they’ve “popped over’ and turned golden…

Let them cool…just slightly!

Run a knife around the edges to release them and drizzle them with some extra Caramel Sauce! Why?? Because you can! 🙂

And if you want even more Caramel, GO FOR IT…

Take a nice close look at those beauties, they won’t last long!

Then, serve those sticky babies up…

Slide your fork through that sticky and tender Caramel Apple Popover…

Prepare for extreme deliciousness In. Your. Mouth! ~Enjoy! 🙂

So here’s a little tid-bit about me: I have an itty-bitty identity crisis..yep, I do! At least when it comes to my culture. See, I lived in Connecticut until I was 12, and then moved to NM, where I’ve called home for (not telling) years..lol! 😉

Sooo, I feel like the Southwest is in my blood, especially when it comes to the food here! I LOVE it! However, I wouldn’t know how to make homemade Tortillas, Red Chile sauce..or Sopapillas if my life depended on it! I’m just too white..haha!

So when I crave something like Sopapillas at home, I’ve always been S.O.L..until now! But..my laziness has come through for me yet again! I grabbed a tube of Pillsbury Crescent Rolls (already the perfect Sopapilla shape)..and fried those babies up! 🙂

That’s it..BOOM! ~instant Sopapillas! Who says laziness doesn’t pay off?! Now anyone can enjoy the hot, crispy, sweet, dripping in honey Sopapilla experience, anytime..anywhere! These Crescents are almost meant to become Sopapillas, they’re Gor-Jus!

Trust me, I’ve had my fair share of Sopas and you can’t tell the difference..I promise! Such a great side kick to a fabulous Mexican meal. Give them a try, and in a matter of minutes, you’ll be dripping in honey and loving it! 🙂

What you’ll need:

1 tube of Pillsbury Crescent Rolls

Approx. 4 cups of oil for frying

Powdered Sugar/Honey/Cinnamon Sugar..optional

Directions:

In a medium pot, heat up your oil..it should be about 3″ deep, with lots of room for expansion when it gets hot!

Pop open the tube of Crescents..

Have a mini-heart attack when it pops! 😉

Slice them at their perforation to separate

Fry them up one at a time, until they’re golden on both sides. You can flip them carefully with a fork or some lonely old Chopsticks.

Drain them on some paper towel & let them cool slightly on a rack before you tear into them! 🙂

But..definitely serve them warm, with a drizzle of Honey..

..and some Cinnamon Sugar..oh and some Powdered Sugar too! Then sink your teeth into the easiest & tastiest Sopapilla ever! ~Enjoy! 🙂

The post ~Crescent Sopapillas! first appeared on Oh Bite It.
