~Black Lager Brittle..with Pretzels & Peanuts!

Sometimes I just have to giggle to myself (much like a drunk person) at how I’m not a drinker, and yet I adore creating recipes that include alcohol..hiccup! ;)

I really don’t get it, but the flavor that it adds to foods are stellar!  So here’s yet another ordinary snack made special with the addition of some beer. 
And I didn’t stop there, I added whole mini pretzels, and salted peanuts!  Just to drive home that “corner bar” experience, while you’re comfy on your own couch..gosh darn it!  :)

What you’ll need:
1 cup white sugar
1/2 cup corn syrup
1/2 cup whole mini pretzels
1/2 cup salted peanuts
1/4 cup dark beer
2 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. baking soda

Directions:

In a medium pot boil the sugar, syrup, and beer until it’s dissolved, and a few drops into cold water turn solid!
Remove from the heat and add the butter and the baking soda.. then gently stir in the mini pretzels and peanuts!

Pour into a 9×13 greased dish and let cool until it’s brittle! 

Break apart chunks and enjoy the unique flavor that the dark beer adds to this fun treat!

Serve in some large beer mugs! ~Enjoy!!
