What can I say?  I’m all out of words for these crazy culinary concoctions of mine.  Seriously, there’s not much left I can tell people when they ask “how do you come up with this stuff?”, or the more popular..”What the heck is wrong with you?”..lol!

This gloriously gooey treat is just one of those things that hit me.  I saw some Doritos looking lonely, and I had some left over cheese..so I did what anyone would do~  I fried the heck out of both of them!  Resulting in a one of a kind, crazy-good, pop in your mouth, movie/game watching snack.

And if that’s not good enough, you can always make a ton of these and sell them at all of the upcoming state fairs that will be making the rounds soon..haha!

Once your lips take hold of the crispy and toasty Doritos, and the warm, gooey cascades of slightly spicy Queso that fill your mouth, you’ll never be the same.  This takes fried cheese to levels that aren’t even levels anymore!  Make a big old pile of these, and taste the heaven!

What you’ll need:

2 cups crushed Doritos…I HIGHLY suggest using the Taco flavored Doritos for this, or for any frying you do with Doritos, the flavor is intense and amazing and never fades away with the cooking process!  But, if you can’t find them, just use Nacho Cheese flavored Doritos!

Mexican Velveeta…approx. a 1″ cube per ball

Oil for frying..I used Canola

1 large Egg

1/4 cup Flour

A splash of water

Directions:

Bowl #1 > The crushed Doritos..I used a food processor, but you can use a zipper bag and crush them up yourself.

Bowl #2 > The Egg, Flour and water mixed until blended.   You want a pancake batter-like consistency.

Cut out approx. 1″ cubes of the Velveeta and roll it in your hands so it resembles a ball..just do the best you can, they don’t have to be perfect, since they’re going to melt inside.

Now place the Cheese balls into the Egg mixture, making sure to coat them evenly…

Drop them into the crushed Doritos, and again..make sure you get a nice thick coating on them, set aside.

Place one or two balls at a time into the hot oil and fry them up just until they’re golden, you may see some cheese peek through and that’s just fine.

Place them onto some paper towel to drain and cool just a bit.

Serve them warm though, so you get the ultimate cheese experience that you deserve…haha!

You won’t believe your taste buds…these are AMAZING!  ~Enjoy! 🙂
