HISTORY OF OMG! PRETZELS
OMG! Pretzels officially launched in Plymouth Meeting, right inside the kitchen of matriarch Lynn Kriebel. Another women-owned business, Ana’s Corner Store, was our very first merchant partner who helped introduce our pretzels to the market.
Through partnerships with small local merchants in the Philadelphia region, such as beer distributors and specialty food stores, we doubled our sales in the first year of operation.
Due to increased sales, it became necessary to move production out of Lynn’s kitchen to a local American Legion commercial kitchen space. OMG! Pretzels developed a variety of partnerships to increase market share, including the first family-owned grocer, McCaffrey’s Market in Blue Bell, PA along with a local distributor in Allentown, PA who helped get the flavored pretzels to more than 100 markets and specialty food stores across eastern PA and New Jersey. Business more than doubled as a result!
OMG! Pretzels expands to other McCaffrey’s Markets, including McCaffrey’s Newtown and Yardley in Pennsylvania and McCaffrey’s West Windsor in New Jersey. In order to meet rapidly increasing product needs, the kitchen production moved to a local synagogue who became a vital partner in our growth for the next 3 years.
OMG! Pretzels was chosen as the winner of the “Best Specialty Food” category in the 2019 Montco Happening contest. We were also featured in the Montgomery County PA Chamber of Commerce “Chamber Business Minute”, in the online magazine PAEats, and in a Small Business segment on Cheddar.com. OMG! Pretzels expanded to the West Coast with women-owned Lincoln Hills Farm and Placer Farmer’s Marketplace becoming our first merchant partner in California. Finally, we introduced new and improved packaging that summer.

OMG! Pretzels begins the search for a permanent location.
OMG! Pretzels found a co-manufacturer to meet the growing demand for our pretzels, adding three new flavors in the process: Lemon Pepper, Salty Butterscotch and Sweet Chili for a total of 8 unique flavors. We also added more than 50 retail partners across the U.S, became available on Amazon, and joined Faire (a wholesale marketplace).
OMG! Pretzels experienced tremendous growth due to their digital marketing efforts, new selling channels, partnering with more than 300 retailers across the U.S., and by adding a second distribution partner. We also became certified Women Owned by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council and Women-Owned Small Business Certified by the U.S. Small Business Administration.
