Air fryers seem to have taken the baton from multi-cookers in the race for most popular kitchen electric, and it’s easy to see why. They provide a healthier alternative to deep-frying, they’re much safer to use, and they can replace several other single-use electrics in your kitchen. We at Zavor have developed two different air fryer options, and now we’re putting them to the test to see which model takes the win!
ROUND 1: FUNCTIONS
Both the Crunch Air Fryer Oven and the Air Fryer Lid can be used to air fry, bake, roast, toast, and more. They both come with 8 preset cooking functions for different food items with their own preset cooking times and temperatures, but each air fryer has its own unique function too! The Air Fryer Lid has a Reheat function that’s perfect for quickly warming up leftovers with the touch of a button. The Crunch comes with a Dehydrate function that lets you make chips, dried fruits, even jerky! While they both come fully equipped to handle your air frying needs, the Crunch just barely edges out the Air Fryer Lid in functions thanks to the unique Dehydrate function.
ROUND 2: EASE OF USE
Using either air fryer is as simple as preparing your food, setting your time & temperature, and pressing start. The Crunch has a touch control panel and dial that scrolls through the times and temperatures to easily program it. When using the Crunch, you need to make sure there is enough space around it so it can properly vent and so you can comfortably open the door. To use the Air Fryer Lid, you need a cooking pot with an inner diameter between 8.5” – 9.75”, luckily all Zavor cookers of 6qt and 8qt size meet that requirement. Set the lid on the pot and lower the safety handle. The Air Fryer Lid has soft-touch controls and two LED displays for time and temperature, making programming much more straightforward. While they’re both easy to use, the Crunch is better suited for larger spaces, whereas the Air Fryer Lid is better for smaller spaces as it doesn’t require much countertop space, ending this round in a tie.
