Before we get knee-deep into this one of a kind, childhood-cereal-dream-come-true, let me just start by saying that you can use ANY cereal you’d like for this fabulous fritter~ that’s right…YOU DO YOU! 🙂

Now, onto the greatness that IS this Cinnamon Toast Crunch Fritter! Can you stand it? Because I can’t~

If this isn’t a giant middle finger held high for all the mom’s (eh-hem~ not mine..cough/cough) ..who would never let their kids eat that sugary <del>poison</del> cereal, then I don’t know what is..lol!

~But issues aside, let’s turn our attention toward this fun and fluffy fritter filled flavorful fantasy ..shall we?! We shall!

I’m talking about rich and thick cake mix filled, and I mean FILLED with (my personal fave cereal) Cinnamon Toast Crunch! The filled & fried fritter is toasty yet tender, and dah-ripping in an over the top fritter glaze that will definitely be the last straw for mom…lol!

It’s ok, you can totally blame me~ just don’t tell MY mom..ok?! 🙂

Watch it come to life right here, and welcome to my house! >

Scoop a generous spoonful of the batter…

Check out this post on Coca-Cola Journey!!

Well, the big game day is upon us, and I really think no one is more excited than I am! Oh..I’m not excited for the game..lol, I’m excited for the FOOD! Nothing beats a coffee table full of tasty treats, pop-in-your-mouth munchies and glorious goodies! The first thing on my game day menu combines America’s favorite beverage, Coca Cola..with a super simple, and succulent snack sensation in the form of oozy-gooey, melty Brie bites nestled in buttery puff pastry.

These little nuggets will be the winner at your game day celebration, and will be gone long before half time. Make lots and prepare to be tackled the moment you bring these babies out to the table. Each light as air, cheesy bite is delicately drizzled with a sweet, thick, Coca-Cola glaze that is out of this world. You can add this glaze to so many things and it will take them immediately over the top.

Get your game day goody On and be the MVP of your house!

What you’ll need:

1 package of Puff Pastry Cups

1 wheel of Brie, skin removed and cut into small cubes

The Glaze:

1 cup of Coca-Cola

1 1/2 cups of Brown Sugar

Directions:

Place the pastry cups onto a sheet pan and bake them according to the package instructions..set aside.

While they’re baking make the Cola Glaze, by bringing the Coke and the Brown Sugar to a boil, and then simmering it for approx. 30 minutes, or until it’s thick.

Cut the Brie into small pieces that will fit inside the pastry cups..one each. Stuff each cup and place them back into a warm oven, just until melted.

Now, drizzle them with some of the Coca-Cola Glaze and serve them up. They only get better with time, as the glaze becomes almost candy-like! Perfect for football watching! ~Enjoy! 🙂

The post ~Coca-Cola Glazed Brie Pastry Puffs! first appeared on Oh Bite It.

OMG~ no, you don’t understand what that eggnog does to this bread pudding. Maybe it’s because Eggnog is pretty much already a custard..lol, but whatever. It works and it works well!

Super simple and succulent, this dessert will be a winner on your holiday table and leave everyone with a smile, it may be a boozy smile..but hey, it’s a smile!

4 eggs

1 cup Eggnog

1 cup sugar

1 tsp.. vanilla extract

1 tbsp. nutmeg

The Glaze:

1 cup powdered sugar

a few splashes of Rum..just until the glaze is thick

Directions:

Bake up the biscuits and let them cool…

In a large bowl, combine the eggs, sugar, vanilla, nutmeg and eggnog…until smooth…

Gently mix them into the custard, making sure to evenly coat them very well, let them soak for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally…

Pour the biscuit/custard mix into a sprayed baking dish and bake it uncovered at 350 degrees for approx. 30 minutes, or until it’s golden and cooked all the way through…

While it’s baking make the glaze///

Add the rum a little bit at a time, into the powdered sugar…

Stir until it’s to your desired thickness…

Well, it’s Summer, and we know what that means~ Ice cold adult beverages, and lots of char-cooked Chicken! Here I’ve managed to combine the two into one, delicious, beyond words mash-up! Talk about a match made in food heaven! If food had a heaven, this Chicken is what it would taste like!

I can’t think of a better combo of flavors! The light and fruity essence of the Blue Moon Beer totally tenderizes the chicken and infuses it with the most light, flavorful, almost refreshing taste. Top it with an Apricot Glaze and now you’ve reached the no-words zone! Yep..I’m now speechless~

Just trust me on this, and go make this! In a matter of about an hour, you too can cry tears of delicious joy! It’s the juiciest and most succulent Chicken dish EVER!! 🙂

What you’ll need to feed 4-6 people:

Chicken Thighs…I used bone in/skin on~ approx. 12 thighs

1 cup or so, of Apricot Preserves..or any fruit preserve you’d like

1 Can of Blue Moon Beer

The juice of 2 LARGE Oranges

Directions:

Lay out the Chicken pieces in a single layer.

Squeeze the Oranges over the Chicken..(you can add some salt and pepper now if you’d like)

So in my house, no matter what, I always end up with leftover Cranberry Sauce. Either Auntie brought over way too much of her “famous” recipe, or one too many cans were purchased. Either way…we have Cranberry Sauce for days! Or at the very least, an extra can of it in the pantry getting dustier by the day~

I decided to put it to good use and do what came naturally for me…No, I didn’t fry t..lol! I caked it!

Yep, I swirled it into thick, moist cake batter, baked it up and then slathered it with glaze & holiday sprinkles. Now we have the perfect “day after” sweet treat!!

You can even bake up the Cake, and freeze it until Christmas..one less thing to worry about on the big day! Just re-heat it or serve it room temp, glaze & sprinkle it up right before serving..BOOM! 🙂

Oh yeah, there are Apples in this Crisp, there is moist Cake in this Crisp, there’s a sweet sugary Streusel and maybe even some Ice Cream on top of this Crisp! ~BUT, it’s the booze, yeah..the BOOZE…once again, that takes front and center on my table! I have no shame and make no apologies for cooking with booze…at least I’m not drinking it..Right?? LOL! 😉

Whiskey makes this Crisp not only delicious, but just a little bit naughty and the perfect Fall treat to warm you up from the inside out. This isn’t your kid’s special treat…nope! This is a “put those kids to bed early” kind of dessert for adults only. And we totally deserve it, those kids get everything good, right? Right! This is our turn for happiness..lol! 🙂

Hide those car keys and sink deep into a piping bowl (or Shot Glass) full of rich, sweet, Whiskey’d Apples, suspended in thick Whiskey filled Cake, drenched & dripping in Whiskey Glazed goodness>>See a theme here?

I’d say that Whiskey is one of the best things that will ever happen to your Apples, and it provides the perfect flavor balance to all the sweetness of the Crisp! ~Not to mention, it will make those holiday family gatherings SO much more <del>tolerable</del> fun! LOL! 🙂

Serve it in some Shot Glasses with a ‘tiny bit’ of Whiskey on the bottom~~We do what we want!

What you’ll need:

1 box of Vanilla Cake Mix (prepare the batter per box instructions)

2 large cans or 4 cups of Apple Pie Filling

Enough Whiskey to replace the liquid in your Cake Mix, and to add some into the Apples…just buy a big bottle~LOL!

The Whiskey Glaze:

1 cup of Powdered Sugar

A few ‘splashes’ of Whiskey…mixed until it reaches your desired thickness

The Topping:

1 cup AP Flour

1 cup Whole Oats

1/2 cup Brown Sugar..packed

1/4 tsp. Salt

1/2 cup Butter, cut into small pieces

Directions:

Make the Streusel topping first, by blending all of the Topping ingredients in a food processor, or mixing it very well by hand…

It should look and feel like wet sand. Set it aside…

Now make the Cake Batter according to the box directions, but replace the liquid with yep..Whiskey…

Pour the batter into the baking pan.

Add a splash of Whiskey to the Apples, just because you can…

Pour the Apples on top of the Cake Batter…

Top it evenly with the Streusel Topping…

Place it onto a sheet pan to protect your oven…

Bake it at 350 degrees for approx. 45 minutes, or until it’s golden, gooey and looks AMAZING!

While it’s baking, make the Whiskey Glaze (see directions above):

Let the Crisp cool, just a bit…

<del>Drench</del> drizzle it with the Whiskey Glaze!

Serve it only to people you like A LOT, they won’t be leaving anytime soon…

Sponsored Ad:

Good drink choices to accompany your meals:

We all want the best health possible. A great deal of where health begins is not only in what we eat and drink but when and how we consume it. Eating late at night is not recommended for instance but snacking during the day and eating lightly may suit some people.

Of course, what we drink is of equal importance to what we eat. A focal point of the debate on

consuming liquids centres around drinking with meals.

The following tips will help in your choice of what to drink while dining.

Watery facts

Having something to drink while eating is a habit most people follow, with water being a popular choice. However, too much water during a meal can interfere with the acids and biles which aiddigestion.

The general rule is drink water about 30 minutes before eating to hydrate the body. This will help the whole digestion process. Drinking 30 minutes afterwards has the same effect.

If you haven’t drunk any water prior to sitting at the table it is advisable to have a few sips during your meal as this is better for digestion than eating without liquid.

Herbal delights

It is common knowledge that herbs aid digestion. Think of the aperitifs that are available before or after dinner and the range of herbal teas on the market which help digestion.

There is also a range of pleasant-tasting soft drinks from Zeo which perform a similar role.Ingredients are natural with sugar extracted from sugar beets and a sweetener coming from thestevia plant; a herb which has satisfied the sweet-tooth for centuries.

Herbs and fruits which are great for digestion include camomile, ginger, lemon, fennel and peppermint to name a few. These are blended with carbonated water, natural flavours and colours to create a delightful drink to accompany meals.

Wining and dining

Wine has long been staple fare at the dinner table and for good reason. Both red and white wines contain antioxidants which can help fight any harmful properties you consume from time to time and scientists also think they help with digestion.

Healthy drinking

As with anything in life which is aimed at supporting health, moderation is the key word. If herbal soft drinks are your preferred dinner tipple, the Zeo blog will keep you in the know about some splendid flavours.

We’ll drink to that!

Mmm! I just can’t say enough about Brownies! And although I adore Chocolate, it’s really the dense, chewy Brownie texture that I love the most. I’ve recently started turning lots of unique flavors into “Brownies” just to capture that amazing, one of a kind Brownie-ish cake.

I thought it would be fun to take the sweet, and fresh flavor of Vanilla Bean & mash it up with the that classic, moist Brownie texture. Oh WOW, if you love Vanilla, if you love Brownies…you will double love each and every bite of these typically non-typical Brownies! Dripping in a decadent Vanilla Bean Glaze, these will have you running for the Milk!

Good Morning~

Today I have for you a healthy breakfast, yes it’s healthy..you don’t doubt me do you..hmm?! 😉

It’s a breakfast filled with healthy FRUIT, yep fruit! Nutritious, good-for-you fruit….nestled in between a few umm..Donut Holes. Donut Holes that just seem to be drizzled with errr..Raspberry Glaze. Eh, so what, the fruit will cancel out those Donuts anyway, and not only do the Donut Hole calories get canceled out, but the fruit renders them healthy by association..yep!

~That’s my story and I’m sticking to it. Join me in these beliefs and be happy..lol!

These succulent skewers are super easy, fun & impressive, offering up the perfect balance of Fruit and Donut! Serve them up with a generous drizzle of sweet and pretty Raspberry Glaze or even a nice, thick squirt of Maple Syrup!

You just can’t beat a Maple & Bacon combo! They’re totally meant to be together. They’re the kind of partnership that’s ‘never had one fight’! The type of relationship that, if they were a real couple, and not a yummy food couple, they’d irritate everyone they know with their relationship perfection..LOL!

Maple & Bacon have got to be one of the most perfect food pairings of all time! 🙂

Just when you thought that those 2 flavors couldn’t possibly be improved, along comes sweet & sticky Maple cake drizzled in Bourbon Glaze! Seriously?! If you love a sweet, salty, sticky bite, these are for YOU!

~Just think of these as a chewy-gooey ‘Pancake’ bar filled with sweet Maple Syrup and salty Bacon. BOOM..Breakfast! ..yeah, that’s right! 🙂

What you’ll need:

1 lb of crispy and crumbled bacon! Yes, of course an entire pound..duh! 😉

2 cups good quality Maple Syrup

1 stick of unsalted butter

1 tsp. Vanilla extract

1 tsp. baking powder

2 cups flour

1 egg

Directions:

Boil the Maple Syrup until it’s thickened and slightly reduced..it took about 12 minutes or so at a good bubble (the longer it simmers the stickier your bars will be, so be patient)! Use a large pot because it bubbles up. Make sure not to let it turn into caramel. Once it’s thick, let it cool..while it’s cooling crisp up and crumble the bacon! 🙂

When the syrup has cooled and is warm, NOT hot..stir in the butter until it melts and combines.

Mix in all the other ingredients including the bacon..but mix in the flour last..in small batches to fully combine. Stir it up! 🙂

Spread it out evenly, onto a parchment lined, medium sized sheet pan and put it in the fridge to chill for about an hour.

Bake it at 350 for about 12 minutes, until slightly golden! When it’s done, let it cool!

While it’s baking make the Kentucky Bourbon glaze!

Simply add 2-3 tbsp. of Kentucky Bourbon to 1 cup of Powdered Sugar and mix well! This is a very strong and boozy glaze, not for kiddos! Keep some of the bars glaze-free for the little ones! 😉

Drizzle the top with the glaze…

Now, serve up a boozy, sticky maple-bacon <del>dessert treat </del> breakfast! ~Enjoy! 🙂

The post ~Sticky Maple Bacon Bars..with Kentucky Bourbon Glaze! first appeared on Oh Bite It.
